It\u2019s not a protected butterfly and can be easily found in the right biotope.\u00a0Poplar Admiral\u00a0fly high up in the trees. Poplar admiral caterpillars feed on aspens. Without binoculars we may see poplar admirals on the ground when they come to get some minerals from water puddles, gravel roads and fresh animal manure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">The poplar admiral\u2019s wingspan is about 7\u20138 cm. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.estonianwildlifetours.com\/tour\/butterfly-watching\/\">butterfly tour <\/a>in June proved that poplar admirals are not hard to find in Estonian forests\u2014we saw many of them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The type <span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">is<\/span> <span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">characterized by<\/span> a <span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">short<\/span> imago stage\u2014<span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">just a couple of weeks.
